Former England international Paul Scholes has urged Manchester United to finish outside the European competitions places this season.
Man United are increasingly likely to finish outside the top-four this season following their 4-0 thumping against Liverpool on Tuesday night.
And Scholes wouldn’t mind if his former club didn’t make the cut as long as they also miss out on Europa League and Europa Conference League football.
That’s because he wants Manchester United’s incoming boss Erik ten Hag to get enough time he needs to implement his philosophy in the team rather delaying the progress due to Thursday nights football.

He said on Twitter: “Finish 8th and give this man the time he needs…saddened by what’s happening, unrecognisable football club.”
Manchester United will continue their top-four hunt this weekend when they face Arsenal at Emirates.
