Ralf Rangnick breaks silence on Erik ten Hag imminent announcement

Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has claimed that he has no idea when Erik ten Hag’s announcement will be made.

Man United are poised to name ten Hag as their next permanent manager after several reports claimed the Dutchman’s move to Old Trafford is ‘99% done’ and has agreed to a four-year deal with The Red Devils.

Early this month, it was reported that his arrival could be announced at the end of April in a bid to start transfer discussions early with ten Hag.

However, Rangnick has confirmed that he has no idea when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s permanent successor will be announced but stated that when the club have something to announce, they will do so.

“I don’t know,” Ralf Rangnick told MUTV when asked about Erik ten Hag’s imminent announcement.

“This is an issue for the club and the board and as soon as there is something to announce then I’m pretty sure the club will make that announcement.”

Erik ten Hag walked away from an interview when he was asked about his move to Manchester United. That was understandable, given his disappointment following Ajax’s 2-1 loss to PSV in the Dutch Cup final on Sunday.

When the topic of Manchester United was brought forward, he said: “I think this is the time to end the press conference. I will need 24 hours to recover from this.”
