Ralf Rangnick confirms Cristiano Ronaldo's next club after Brentford victory

Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will remain at Old Trafford for at least another year.

Man United re-signed Ronaldo from Juventus last year and handed him a two-year contract with an option to make it three.

The arrival of the 37-year-old did not boost Manchester United‘s chances of ending their title drought but his individual performances can’t be questioned.

Ronaldo scored his 24th goal of the season against Brentford on Monday night in the Premier League and that was his 18th league goals in 32 matches.

Because Manchester United have technically failed to qualify for the Champions League next season, several reports claim the Portugal skipper could leave Old Trafford at the end of the season, with Real Madrid touted as his potential destination.

After the final whistle, Cristiano Ronaldo gave a farewell to the Old Trafford stands and shouted ‘I’m not finished’ at full-time.

Many thought he might have played his last game as a Manchester United player and the comments above suggested that he could take up another challenge next season but Ralf Rangnick, who will become United’s consultant at the end of the season, said the Portuguese icon has one year left in his current deal and is likely to see it out.

“Why should he say goodbye? He has another year of the contract, as far as I know, Cristiano Ronaldo will be here next season,” Ralf Rangnick said.
