Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has confirmed that Victor Lindelof returned to training on Thursday and is fit to feature against Aston Villa in the FA Cup on January 10.
Lindelof last featured for Man United on December 11 during United’s 1-0 win over Norwich City. He was replaced midway through the second half by Raphael Varane due to chest issues.
The Sweden international, who had recovered from the chest issues, would contract COVID-19 that ruled him out of Manchester United’s games against Newcastle United, Burnley, and Wolves.
Rangnick confirms the Swede has returned to training and the centre-half is in contention to feature against Villa on Monday.
The German boss also confirmed that Harry Maguire is a doubt for the FA Cup clash.
Maguire missed United’s 1-0 home defeat to Wolves on Monday due to an injury. And his place was well handled by Phil Jones, who would command loads of praises from teammates, fans and pundits.
“Harry [Maguire] hasn’t been able to train, as yet, and we have to wait and see how this develops, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.
