Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has confirmed that it was only Paul Pogba, who hasn’t trained this week ahead of next week’s clash vs Newcastle United.
Man United haven’t played a game since their narrow 1-0 win over Norwich City on December 12, due to the COVID-19 outbreak at Old Trafford.
United may have had their matches against Brentford and Brighton and Hove Albion postponed as a result, but their injured and ill players used the short period to recover to full fitness, except Pogba, who hasn’t trained with the squad this week.
“We trained on Tuesday, yesterday and today and we have 25 field players — he’s [Paul Pogba] the only one missing out, everyone else is on board,” said Rangnick. “The development of the last week is extremely positive.
“We will train tomorrow and there will be a day off on Christmas Day and then we have the last training session on Sunday and fly to Newcastle Sunday evening.”
Paul Pogba will have until Sunday morning to make himself available for the trip against Newcastle United on Monday night.
The Frenchman hasn’t featured for Manchester United since suffering a muscle injury in November whilst on international duty with France.
