Ralf Rangnick confirms Manchester United star is fit to face Leeds United

Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick has confirmed that Nemanja Matic is fit to face Leeds United on Sunday in the Premier League.

In another news, the German boss ruled Edinson Cavani out of the clash with ab ongoing groin injury.

Man United are keen on extending their their unbeaten run to four games when they play visitors to The Whites, who are struggling at the moment.

United were held to 1-1 draws against Burnley and Southampton, results that didn’t reflect Manchester United’s performances. Against Brighton and Hove Albion, they recorded a 2-0 win, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes getting on the scoresheet.

Now, The Red Devils will look to make it four games without a defeat when they face Leeds at Elland Road and their chances of doing so might have been boosted after Rangnick confirmed Matic, United’s only natural defensive midfielder, is available for the tie.

The Serbian international was an unused substitute against Burnley but was not in the squad against Southampton and Brighton.

Rangnick said ahead of the Leeds United clash: “Nemanja Matić was back available again, and he did quite well [in training].

“He’s maybe available for Leeds but definitely the next two games. We will take it one by one.

“We try to start with a starting XI where we are convinced we can win the next game.”

On Cavani, the German said: “As it seems, Edinson Cavani will still be out, he’s still having some problems with his groin and his stomach.”
