Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick has revealed what his squad MUST do tonight against Chelsea at Old Trafford.
Man United will be looking to push for a response against The Blues, having lost their last two games against Liverpool and Arsenal last week.
United got humbled 4-0 at Anfield last midweek and suffered a 3-1 defeat at Arsenal after a poor officiating and lacklustre display from Manchester United players.
Despite United’s injury-disturbed squad, Rangnick believes his side can create chances against a well-organised Chelsea side and reckons that’s what Manchester United players must do.
“[Against Chelsea] we need to be behind the ball, be aggressive, with all the players involved and take the ball away from them and not let them play,” Rangnick said.
“We must create chances [against Chelsea], on the other hand, in our moments in possession and create as many chances as we possibly can to score the necessary goals.
“We showed against Tottenham and Leeds away that we are able to score goals but it would also be helpful not to concede in the early stages of the games, as we did against Liverpool, Manchester City and in the last game at Arsenal.”
Manchester United and Chelsea played a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge in the reverse fixture, when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was still United boss at the time.
A lot has happened since. The Blues are comfortable in the top-four while United aren’t even sure of a top-six finish let along a top-four finish.
