Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund has taken to social media to react to his debut against Arsenal on Sunday evening in the Premier League.
Man United signed Hojlund from Atalanta in August but due to a back injury, the Denmark international was forced to wait until on Sunday to make his first long-awaited debut for the Red Devils.
Erik ten Hag resisted the temptation to start the youngster against Arsenal after saying in press conference on Friday that the striker’s fit to start matches.
Anthony Martial led United’s attack against the Gunners but according to many, the France international didn’t do enough. Midway through the second half, Ten Hag brought on his summer signing.
Hojlund made more impact in 20 minutes than Martial did in 60 minutes, according to social media football fans, and was close to winning a penalty for Manchester United after he was dragged down by Gabriel late on in the game.
Although Man United lost 3-1 at the Emirates, Hojlund felt proud of his first appearance as a Red and tells his fans the club will bounce back.
On Instagram, the Danish forward said: “So proud to make my debut for Manchester United, the dream became a reality.
“Unlucky with the result today… but we will bounce back after the international break.
“Now focus on [playing for Denmark in the international break].”
