Manchester United will play visitors to Burnley on Tuesday night in the Premier League and due to tactical reasons and illness, three players are likely to start the game.
Man United bowed out of the FA Cup last week after losing to Middlesbrough 8-7 on penalties, with Anthony Elanga missing United’s eighth penalty kick.
The Red Devils are anxious to get back to winning ways in a bid to keep up their top-four push and they have a decent chance of doing so against Burnley, who sit last on the table.
However, Manchester United are likely to do that without the likes of Fred and Alex Telles in the team after Ralf Rangnick confirmed on Monday that both Brazilians have contracted COVID-19.
Luke Shaw, who started against Middlesbrough, is now the huge favourite to start in the left-back against the Clarets, at the expense of ill Alex Telles.
Telles played 90 minutes against West Ham United and helped Manchester United beat The Hammers 1-0 in the last minute of the game at Old Trafford.
Paul Pogba has a huge chance of starting against Burnley tonight due to Fred’s absence. The World Cup winner started and impressed against Middlesbrough before he eventually got replaced by Fred in the second half.
Ralf Rangnick was pleased with the France star’s performance and said the midfielder, who won a penalty in the first half, played exactly how would have liked.
“That’s why he will be missing from tomorrow’s game [Burnley] and possibly even the game against Southampton.”
David de Gea is expected to return back to the starting lineup after he was left out of the squad against Middlesbrough on Friday.
