Van der Vaart fires Erik ten Hag warning to Manchester United players after '99% done deal' reports

Former Real Madrid forward Van der Vaart has warned Manchester United players that Erik ten Hag would offload them if they failed to follow his instructions after reports claim his move to United is ‘99% done’.

Man United held several interviews with the likes of ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino over who their next permanent manager would be.

According to strong sources, the Ajax manager has been identified as the right man to take Manchester United forward.

And several journalists, including Fabrizio Romano, have confirmed that the Dutchman will become United’s next manager but the official announcement hasn’t been made.

The Ajax boss is reportedly satisfied with Manchester United’s plans to make important decisions with him, which also was one of the reasons he agreed a four-year deal with The Red Devils, claimed Romano.

Van der Vaart has now warned United players that they have no reason not to perform very well under a manager, who has a clear playing pattern.

Ten Hag to Manchester United? It’s nice. You don’t let a club like Manchester United wait,” the ex-Spurs forward said.

“These players (Man United) can’t have any excuses anymore. They made so many managers leave while they are playing so bad.

“Now they get a manager who will be very clear and will present his plan. Those who won’t cooperate will get thrown out.”
