Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick believes his side can beat Tottenham at Old Trafford, given the teams that have beaten Spurs in recent weeks.
Man United head into the game against Tottenham off the back of a disappointing result and performance against Manchester City last weekend.
United were walloped 4-1 at Etihad on Saturday, a performance that attracted widespread criticism, with Roy Keane and Gary Neville describing United’s display as ‘shameful’.
Manchester United will look to get a response against Tottenham in a bid to keep their top-four chances breathing.
Though Tottenham staged a huge 3-2 win over Manchester City at Etihad but lost against the likes of Middlesbrough in the FA Cup, Burnley, and Wolves in the Premier League.
Hence giving Ralf Rangnick the confidence that Manchester United can follow suit, given the performances The Red Devils put against those teams mentioned above.
“[They play] with a back three and it is a very compact shape,” Ralf Rangnick said of Tottenham’s tactics. “They are probably one of the best teams in transitional moments with Heung Min-Son and Harry Kane.
“This is what we have to be aware of and prepared for, to not give them those transitional moments. But at the same time they also lost against teams like Middlesbrough, Wolves and Burnley.
