What Erik ten Hag said when asked about Man United after Ajax's loss to PSV

Erik ten Hag snubbed a chance to discuss his move to Manchester United following Ajax’s painful loss to PSV in a Dutch cup final on Sunday.

Ajax had opened the scoring in the first half through a fine finish from Ryan Gravenberch and led at half-time but shortly after the second half, PSV got their equaliser and went ahead in the 50th minute through goals from Erick Gutierrez and Cody Gakpo.

Ten Hag’s side lost 2-1 to PSV after a few individual errors and it came as a big blow to the Dutch manager, who initially planned to end this season as Eredivisie winners and cup double.

His move to Man United isn’t confirmed at the moment, but reports claimed his transfer to Old Trafford in the summer is ‘99% done’.

However, Ten Hag was not interested in having any talk about his move to Manchester after the disappointing defeat.

When the topic of Manchester United was brought forward, he said: “I think this is the time to end the press conference. I will need 24 hours to recover from this.”

On Ajax’s defeat to PSV, Ten Hag said: “There is only one club that should have lifted the trophy today, and that’s Ajax. But we made 2 individual mistakes in a matter of minutes.”
