Why Scott McTominay aspires to be like 'phenomenal' Robert Lewandowski

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has revealed that he aspires to be like Robert Lewandowski when he’s a bit older, thanks to how the striker has looked after his body throughout his career.

McTominay, who was called up to the Scotland national team, is poised on facing Poland on Thursday night in an international friendly game at Hampden Park.

The Man United midfielder has only come against Robert Lewandowski once so far and it was during a friendly game against Bayern Munich whilst Jose Mourinho was the manager.

Though he hasn’t got much experience playing against the Bayern Munich star, the 25-year-old midfielder still believes that Lewandowski is a phenomenal player, whose goal record speaks for itself.

“I’ve never played against him [Robert Lewandowski] properly before,” Scott McTominay told Glasgow Times. “I think it was pre-season against Bayern Munich away from home, Jose Mourinho was the manager.

“But obviously, his goal record speaks for itself. He’s a phenomenal footballer. The way he looks after his body, it’s something I aspire to be like when I’m a bit older.

“You get what you put into football. He obviously works extremely hard at his game and looking after himself. He deserves every credit and all the success in the world for that.”
